AISC 14.1 Properties Viewer View & compare AISC 14th Edition Manual steel section properties. This workbook is based on the "AISC Shapes Database" Version 14.1 (October 2013) from the AISC.org website, and has the same look as the ones that I did based on earlier AISC shapes database/manual versions.

Online Structural Steel Detailing Tool Created by the AISC Steel Solutions Center, this is an online structural steel detailing tool that runs in your web browser, giving you immediate access to the various detailing dimensions as shown in the 14th Edition Steel Construction Manual. Simply select a shape type (W, M, S, HP, C, MC, L, WT, MT, ST, Pipe or HSS), then pick a specific shape and you'll be given a diagram showing the various detailing dimensions with values for the chosen shape. This is an online tool which requires no downloads or software installation, and should run with any reasonably modern browser, including the major mobile browsers. Pocket Reference: W Shapes by Depth, then Flange Width This is a quick & dirty foldable pocket reference that organizes all W shapes by depth, then by flange width. Print out the PDF, do a little folding & trimming, and you end up with a tidy little guide that fits in most any pocket. The folding required is relatively simple, but it can be a bit tough to understand the first time you try it -- you may want to print out a couple of copies until you get a handle on it. This item was inspired by the "PocketMod". I've included a link to a descriptive website that explains how to fold this thing -- see the "Related Documents and Links" section below!

SDAccess (Access the AISC Shapes Database) This workbook provides easy and convenient access to the desired section data within the AISC Shapes Database XLS file, thus facilitating engineering calculations in education and in practice. There is no special DLL code nor macros required. The original workbook (SDAccess_V14.1.xlsx) makes use of the IFNA function which is only available in EXCEL 2013. A second file (SDAccess_V14.1_r1.xlsx) removes the use of IFNA and is compatible with EXCEL 2007, and later.

Select Shapes Program The program (MS Access database) designed for quick creation of list of structural shapes used in current project. Web page of program: https://www.nyacad.com/SelectShapes.html Auto generated report shows selected shapes sizes (W, C & MC shapes available). With printed report (https://www.nyacad.com/CuttingListFiles/Report_SelectShapes.pdf) it is faster to make basic design: stiffeners, base plates, typical clip angles or moment connections etc. All data – on one or two pages; you don’t need to open book, find table with shapes, search table to find properties of (for instance) W12x26, write down BF or TW value, then look for another shape properties and so on. Download ZIP anywhere on your hard drive, unzip and double click on Select Shapes.mde or start MS Access and click on Open button; browse to find Select Shapes.mde

Unintended Composite Action Section Property The spreadsheet is ideal for old, built up steel girders with jack arch type concrete decks that exhibit composite action even though the original designers intended none. Any concrete located below the neutral axis is neglected. the ideal way to use this spreadsheet is to input all your known values and then guess at the distance to the neutral axis and observe the Y bar value, then revise until convergence, will do so in 2 or 3 steps.
